Dunsford Nature Trail
The Dunsford Nature Trail starts out on the old railway bed right near the edge of town. The terrain is very flat and easy to walk. We visited on a cold windy May day in search of the rail trail geocache.
Along side the trail is a beautiful fast moving stream. Of coarse it has rained for the last week, so the stream may not be running as fast later in the month when things dry up.
We walked past a farm were the stream ran through it. The kids were delighted to see two groups of geese with young goslings, cows and their calves standing along side the stream bed. They stared at us and we stared back. But it was obvious the mother cows were getting uneasy so it was time to move on.
Near the center of the trail is a bridge that overlooks a large marsh area. You can hear the red wing black birds chirping here and there is evidence of beavers everywhere but we didn't see any.
This area is a great place to stop at if you are in the area, but not much good for a picnic and its a very short trail. Nice if you are pressed for time and need to get out for a quick fix.
