Durham Regional Forest
The Durham Regional Forest Main Tract is comprised of plantation forests established over 70 years ago, as well as mixed hardwood areas. The 12 km of marked trails encompasses a 405 hectare area which is located at the top of the Oak Ridges Moraine, and is renowned for its excellent hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and cross-country skiing.
Durham Forest, part of an extensive forested area approximately 7 km. south of Uxbridge (Ontario), has numerous trails, including sections of the Trans Canada and Oak Ridges trails. Adjacent to south west corner of Durham Forest is an area owned by the Toronto Region Conservation Authority, know as the Walker Woods in its north part, and in the south as Glen Major Forest. Together they provide a popular network of mountain-biking and hiking trails both easy and difficult.
